News and Updates
u12/u14 Christmas Tournament - 16th December 2011
Here are more pictures from last Friday, when the U12s and U14s came together for a pre-Christmas tournament. We hope you enjoyed the event!
Cluster Games - 2nd December 2011
The Under 12's put out both a Girls and Boys team at last weeks Cluster competition.
The Girls won their three games, against the Liberton cluster, convincingly.
The boys, with enough players to make two teams, played 3 games winning 1. Notably a significant number of the boys played their first games for the club which bodes well for the future.
Training resumes this Friday, 5.30, at Holy Rood High School - See you all there.
Derek Ferguson - Team Manager
The Magnificent 7
The U12s played their first Cluster competition on Friday 4th November and the team did themselves and the club proud, says Team Manager Derek Ferguson:
We decided to put in a mixed boys and girls team and perhaps as a consequence of this the first game was a little dis-jointed with a few of the players lacking confidence.
However, with a few encouraging words from Coach Katie the team went from strength to strength as each game went by and the day wore on.
The record book will show played 4, won 1 and lost 3, but that's only a small part of the story, they were all winners by the end of the day.
Each one of the team put in 100% effort in every game, their defensive, passing and team skills grew as the day wore on. Most importantly, from our perspective, none of their heads went down when playing against, most of the time, much bigger and older opposition.
A huge well done to all the players, thanks to Katie McB for helping out with coaching and to all the parents for getting the players to and from the venue and providing support.
Back to training at Holy Rood next Friday at 5.30, see you all then!
